I’m a fully-licensed R.TCMP, with over 5 years of education and clinical training in acupuncture and herbal medicine. In addition to my background in science, I’ve completed a Masters degree and am a doctoral candidate in the social science of health, illness and health care. I’m committed to delivering patient-centered, service-oriented professional care.

When I first tried acupuncture over 10 years ago, I fell in love with Traditional Chinese Medicine! TCM was an unexpectedly good fit with my rigorous academic background and research experience in health and health care — I held a Canadian Institutes of Health Research doctoral-level fellowship in interdisciplinary research on primary care reform. I’m formally qualified to teach at the university level on subjects including the social determinants of health and the social production and distribution of health and illness; the subjective experience and management of illness; health, illness and identity, chronic illness and illness trajectories; as well as on provider-patient roles and relationships and professionalism.

I’ve gone from being a health and health care researcher to being a health care provider. Bridging these two worlds has helped me appreciate the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s holistic approach to recognize and respond to patients’ varied and complex needs. I’ve successfully treated patients experiencing anxiety, insomnia, poor memory and concentration, lack of energy, long-term musculo-skeletal problems, high blood pressure, and digestive issues, while helping others managing significant immunological conditions.

I’m pleased to be offering my services as a member of the highly professional and patient-centered team at the Pacific Wellness Institute, and I look forward to meeting you.
