Our Acupuncturist Has Co-Authored a Textbook on Acupuncture

Share

This newly published textbook, Fundamental Workbook of Clinical Acupuncture and Moxibustion (Ishiyaku Publishers, Tokyo, 2009), is the finished product of a collaboration among acupuncture and Oriental medicine universities in Japan. It contains standardized procedures for safe and effective acupuncture treatment. The last chapter is devoted to a discussion on acupuncture mechanisms and scientific evidence. Standardized training, evaluation and clarification of current evidence are vitally important to the field of acupuncture. Our chief acupuncturist, Tim H. Tanaka, Ph.D., is honored to have been a part of this important academic project. This book will be used as one of the main clinical textbooks in all acupuncture and Oriental medicine universities in Japan.

As an aside, a previous textbook he participated in, on Massage and Shiatsu Therapy (Ishiyaku Publishers, Tokyo, 2006) has been a great success. Not only has it been used by many massage schools in Japan, but it has also been translated into Chinese and is available in Taiwan as of this year.
